Pregunta: Regarding the social and political implications of code and software within this theme in Ars Electronica 2003 and also Transmediale 2001 that you organised on software art. How come software and code reflection themes have reappeared years later, after the 70s and after the early pioneers?

Pregunta: A while ago you were writing about interface as a field of subjectivity, as a way to construct new subjectivities related to the cultural and social changes. Do you think code is getting deeper into this artistic tendency of creating different interfaces?

Digital art is also getting into museums, galleries and other institutions. In which aspects do you think this market can influence the political and social aspects of new digital art works?

Al llarg d'aquesta conversa amb Andreas Broeckmann, el codi i el programari artístic esdevenen els temes principals. Fem un repàs del passat, el present i el futur de l'art digital, i més específicament del programari i el codi artístics. En aquest repàs també parlem de l'evolució de les utopies de l'art digital, les que ja s'han ensorrat i les que estan sorgint, i també parlem de la repercussió de l'evolució de les utopies i de la creació de programari i codi en la nostra cultura i societat.

Andreas Broeckmann va estudiar història de l'art, sociologia i estudis dels media i va treballar com a cap de projectes a V2_Organisation a Rotterdam, Institute for the Unstable Media. És el director artístic de Transmediale (festival internacional d'art multimèdia de Berlín) des de l'any 2000. És membre de mikro, una iniciativa amb seu a Berlín per al foment de la cultura dels media , i de l' European Cultural Backbone, una xarxa de centres multimèdia.
