Poesia rasa. The Essence of Reality. Even although Brossa started writing and developing his experimental work without interruption in the forties, it has to be said that it was not until the publication of Poesia rasa (Base Poetry), in 1970, that his literary work began to reach a wider readership and gain the recognition of the most influential critics. After the publication of Poesia rasa, Brossa gradually started to bring out editions of his unpublished work from the darkest days of the Franco regime, and the leading Catalan imprints regularly published his books of literary poetry, containing both new and old pieces. At the same time he was also presenting his more experimental work, starting to publish his visual poetry and exhibiting his object poems.
