Changes in the specialization of culture and society provides the basis for understanding and analyzing culture in contemporary societies. Serves therefore, to see beyond appearances and gain a broad perspective and criticism of the changing relationship between culture and society in the world today.
Cultural practices are changing rapidly with new ways to produce, transmit and experience the culture. The emergence of information technologies and communication, changes in media and creative industries are key to understanding this cultural change. Therefore this course provides the tools to think about changes in the relationship between culture and society through theoretical and case studies relevant to discussions with leading academics and professionals.
Through the involvement of outstanding research, media and music industry will look in real time aspects that will work on a theoretical level as the construction of identities and social distinctions, new cultures of production and cultural industries, obsolescence and emerging forms of mediation, the different joints of authenticity and cool, or the changing tension between commercial and alternative about new forms of intellectual property. These are all elements that are being transformed into the set of contemporary culture. The course is addressed to researchers interested in the study of culture in today's world, as well as professionals and developers who work around culture, media and advertising.
