Health services are a highly innovative sector expecting major changes that will require us to rise to challenges such as: The appearance of new health problems, redesigning traditional processes to better adapt them to scientific evidence, the needs of patients and continuous improvement, customer satisfaction in the context of complex health systems, the prioritisation of health services maintaining a balance between equality and the effectiveness of the decisions taken, and promoting the idea that people are responsible for looking after their own health and must take part in the decision-making system.
Teaching programmes for conventional health qualifications have not satisfactorily responded to these training needs. Therefore, the UOC is proposing a course designed to develop the skills of professionals in the health sector and other related disciplines who are going to dedicate themselves to clinical management and to the provision of healthcare services.
The training process is based on principles, values and consolidated knowledge and the practical application of learning in the form of activities aimed at critical analysis, assessment and decision-making. It uses a system of simulation integrating situations representative of the real-life operation of healthcare environments.
