Human Nutrition and Food in Widespread Pathologies

Edition: 4
Start: 17 October 2013
Duration: 6 months ( 300 Duration)
N.º of credits: 12 ECTS
Language: Multilanguage

Despite the confirmation of nutrition's important role in keeping us healthy and preventing certain diseases, while one part of the world suffers from nutritional deficiencies, malnutrition and serious difficulties in obtaining food, developed countries are seeing an epidemic rise in diseases directly related to poor diet and/or overeating, including “metabolic diseases” (obesity, diabetes, hyperlipemia, etc).

In the light of this duality and the problems it creates, it is more important than ever to be able to tackle and manage nutritional differences and provide the required information on the role of nutrition in the prevention and treatment of chronic food-related pathologies.

Professionals taking part in the programme may contribute the following skills to their organisation in their present and future roles and positions. They will obtain up-to-date and detailed knowledge and master dietary practice for individuals with highly prevalent food-related pathologies. They will also be able to apply the right tools to prevent or delay onset of these diseases.
