Eduard Vinyamata Camp

Graduate in Economic and Social Sciences from the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales(Sorbonne, Paris). PhD in Social Sciences. Director of Campus for Peace and Solidarity (UOC). Lecturer of Conflictology at the UOC. Academic manager of the Humanitarian Cooperation, Peace and Sustainability Area at the UOC.



Nicole Jenne

Nicole Jenne has joined the UOC in April 2009. She studied Political Science, Sociology and Media Science in Germany and Finland and finished her studies with a Master in International Relations and European Politics at the University of Edinburgh last year. Nicole has worked as a research assistant at Heinrich-Heine Universität Düsseldorf and at the Institut Barcelona d’Estudis Internacionals. Her main research interests are the new challenges of international security and the role of international organisations in promoting peace and stability

Francesc Benítez

Telecommunication Engineer and works as researcher in the Centre d’Estudis per la Pau J.M. Delàs (J.M. Delas Peace Research Center). Besides, he is deputy chairman of the NGO Justícia i Pau de Barcelona (“Justice and Peace” of Barcelona). His areas of interest are European defense, armed conflict geopolitics and arms exports. He collaborates in magazines and newspapers about topics related with peace and disarmament and gives lectures on these matters. Francesc has published, amongst others, in 40 años de Justicia y Paz (40 years of “Justice and Peace”) (PPC, 2008) and El Tercer Món necessita pau (The Third World needs Peace) (Fundació Tam-Tam, 2001).

Eric George

Eric George has a European Doctorate in International Peace, Conflict and Development Studies from the Universitat Jaume I of Castelló, where he teaches in the MA in International Peace, Conflict and Development Studies and in the English Studies Department.



Ramin Jahanbegloo

Ramin Jahanbegloo is a well-known Iranian-Canadian philosopher. He received his B.A. and M.A. in Philosophy, History and Political Science and later his Ph.D. in Philosophy from the Sorbonne University. He has worked as a lecturer and researcher at the Academy of Philosophy in Tehran, at the French Institute for Iranian Studies, at Harvard University, University of Toronto and at the Centre for the Study of Developing Societies in New Delhi, India. In April 2006 Dr. Jahanbegloo was arrested in Tehran Airport charged with preparing a velvet revolution in Iran. He was placed in solitary confinement for four months and released on bail.
He is presently a Professor of Political Science and a Research Fellow in the Centre for Ethics at University of Toronto and a member of PEN Canada. He is the winner of the Peace Prize from the United Nations Association in Spain (2009) for his extensive academic works in promoting dialogue between cultures and his advocacy for non-violence.



Roberto Luna Salvador

Roberto Luna Salvador is lecturer of Conflictology at the Open University of Catalonia (Humanitarian Cooperation, Peace and Sustainability Area). He has supervised several projects in different Master and Postgraduate programs and authored papers on social and politic conflicts. His main academic interests are social and labour relations. Roberto’s work experience includes immigration, racism, development and Spanish interior and justice matters. He also worked in international private consultancy.



Jake Lynch

Associate Professor Jake Lynch, PhD (City University, London) has spent the past decade developing, teaching and training in peace journalism – and practising it, as an experienced international reporter in television and newspapers. He was a presenter (anchor) for BBC World News; the Sydney Correspondent for the London Independent newspaper, and a Political Correspondent for Sky News



Ian Macduff

Practice Associate Professor and Director of the Centre for Dispute Resolution in the School of Law, Singapore Management University, where he teaches courses in negotiation, conflict resolution, and ethics. Until June of 2008 he was the Director of the NZ Centre for Conflict Resolution, Faculty of Law, Victoria University of Wellington and an independent mediator and trainer in a number of fields. He has been consultant and trainer for the World Health Organisation for a capacity building programme in Sri Lanka from 1999 to 2001 and again in 2004. He is co-editor of Ethnic Conflict and Secessionism in South and South East Asia (Sage, 2003); co-author of Dispute Resolution in New Zealand (OUP 1999), and of Guidelines for Family Mediation (Butterworths, 1995). He was Visiting Professor in the Faculty of Law, National University of Singapore, from January to April 2004; and had a one-year joint appointment in Law and the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, NUS, for 2005. He has been Visiting Professor at the International Training Programme in Conflict Management of the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, Pisa on several occasions.



Pere Ortega

BA Contemporary History, is Coordinator and Researcher of  the Centre d’Estudis per la Pau J.M. Delàs (J.M. Delas Peace Research Center). He is an expert in the areas Spanish defense economics (military expenditure, military R&D, military industry and arms exports), disarmament, European defense, and peace and nonviolence. He collaborates in magazines, newspapers and other publications related to peace and disarmament and gives conferences and seminars. Recent publications include Noviolencia y transformación social (Nonviolence and social transformation) (Icaria, 2005) and Atlas del militarismo en España 2009 (Spanish militarism atlas 2009)

James South

James South is a CEDR Director and is responsible for CEDR's training and educational capabilities including the development of leading-edge courses for the legal profession, businesses and public sector and well as collaboration with universities and professional and international ADR bodies



Beatriz Seisdedos

After her studies in Business and Non-Profit-Making Organisation Management, Beatriz Seisdedos spent eight years working for the Spanish Red Cross in five different countries (in three different continents) living in conflict or post-conflict circumstances. She is currently working for the International Committee of the Red Cross in Colombia. In 2005 she started her studies in international conflict resolution in the UOC. Beatriz has on severl occasions collaborated with the non-profit organisation Ser Paz in Ecuador.

John Winslade

Dr John Winslade (PhD) is the Associate Dean of the College of Education at California State University San Bernardino and a Professor who teaches counseling. He is also an Associate Professor at the University of Waikato in New Zealand where he teaches part-time. He has also taught mediation at California State University Dominguez Hills and at the University of Waterloo. John is an Associate of the Taos Institute and has been on the Board of Conflict Resolution Quarterly. He is the co-author with Dr Gerald Monk of two books on narrative mediation (Narrative mediation: A new approach to conflict resolution; and Practicing Narrative mediation; Loosening the grip of conflict) and five others on narrative therapy. He is also the Editor of the online journal, Explorations: An Ejournal of Narrative Practice. John has written many articles on narrative mediation and narrative therapy and has taught over 150 workshops on narrative practice in the USA, Canada, Great Britain, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Netherlands, Spain, Cyprus, Russia, Israel, New Zealand and Australia.



Tom Woodhouse

Professor Tom Woodhouse is the Director of the Centre for Conflict Resolution within the Department of Peace Studies at the University of Bradford. The Centre has a strong research and teaching profile around conflict analysis, peacekeeping, peacebuilding and the development of conflict theory related to international conflict. He directs the Centre’s E-Learning Programme.
