This postgraduate course is based on the four central pillars of the EDE Evovillage Design Programme developed by Gaia Education: the social, economic, ecological and cultural dimensions of sustainability presented as an interdependent and complete totality. The EDE has been recognised as an official contribution to the UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development.
The course makes use of the experience and know-how accumulated by a broad network including some of the most successful ecovillages and communities on the planet, the course is designed to be adaptable to different geographical and socio-economic contexts.
The Design for Sustainability Programme has so far been taught in 23 different countries in a variety of formats. It is now also offered as a virtual postgraduate course.
