Changes in cities and public policies must be consonant with the needs of their citizens and the constant evolution of the information society, which has transformed cities in recent decades. New needs create new challenges and these require new policies, strategies and interventions in order to achieve the well-being of society with an efficient, effective, just and sustainable approach.
The postgraduate in Financial and social management of cities brings together teaching staff from disciplines using diverse approaches to provide an integral, cross-cutting approach, thus providing tools and mechanisms for the urban management of cities in the 21st century.
On completion of the course, students will be able to take action and make decisions regarding local public policies, management instruments and mechanisms of governability and civic participation. They will also be able to draw up and manage strategic local and regional plans and their sectorial derivatives, and to design, plan and manage cultural policies in the city.
