The goal of the MBA in Social Entrepreneurship is to train leaders for social enterprises, entrepreneurs and managers who are capable of resolving the most serious social problems facing humanity such as the fight against poverty and hunger, environmental degradation, access to education and health, or the integration of groups at risk of exclusion. Entrepreneurs and managers who want to change the status quo, who are able to respect peoples’ differences and to value their similarities.
The programme is aimed at sustainable, scalable competitive social organisations that provide access to critical goods and services through open collaboration between social agents, through institutional and governmental support and through the incorporation of business techniques and methods.
The programme brings together a wide variety of business models and environments, from inclusive businesses at the base of the pyramid in developing countries to intelligent globalisation initiatives of the new citizenry, or eco-innovations that tackle the main challenges facing the planet.
The MBA in Social Entrepreneurship is the most complete programme for the social and entrepreneurial sector in Spain. It is a pioneering, innovative and flexible programme that is aimed at those who would like to run a social enterprise or become dynamic entrepreneurs within their organisation, whether this be an non-profit organisation, a governmental organisation or another type of company.
The multi-faceted international focus of this course combines the knowledge and skills required to become an entrepreneur or manager with a global vision using a specific set of practical tools. The programme takes an in-depth look at essential issues, such as the success of social initiatives and social impact metrics, the management of social innovation, the construction of strategic alliances within this emerging sector or social financing.
Discussions surrounding current developments with experts from the sector provide a platform from which to analyse complex issues, becoming a discussion forum for the exchange of experience and knowledge. The programme covers the creation of a social enterprise business plan that can be applied to the student’s company or institution to improve it.
