Peer Review Process

All of the articles published in RUSC are previously subjected to blind review by members of the Scientific Editorial Board, who are renowned experts in the subject area, or by lecturers and researchers from other universities external to the Board.

Guarantee of blind review

As detailed in the author guidelines, authors must submit their articles without any personal details (name, surname, e-mail address, academic affiliations, postal address or brief CV). This information must be included in a separate file.

In any event, the journal's staff will ensure the anonymity of the articles and of their reviewers.

Stages of the article review process

Stage 1: Sending of original.

Stage 2: Assessment of the original by two reviewers, who are experts in the subject area.

Stage 3: Sending of the result of the review to the journal.

The reviewers send the results of their assessment and their proposed decision to the journal.

Stage 4: Communication of the result of the review to authors.

Accepted: An article is approved if the result of the two reviews is positive.

Not accepted: An article is declined if the result of the two reviews is negative.

Accepted (with modifications): The results of the reviews propose substantial changes to the content by authors before the article can be approved definitively.

Should the results from the two reviews differ, there is a second round of assessment by two different reviewers in the subject area, until a majority decision is reached.

Making the proposed changes to an article does not guarantee that it will be published. After authors have made the changes, articles are reviewed again.

Stage 5: If an article is accepted, the decision is communicated to authors, as is the number of the journal in which it will be published.

Assessment criteria

All of the articles submitted to RUSC are sent to two or more experts in the subject area, who are asked to assess whether the content of an article ties in with the theme of the journal. If it does, they go on to assess the article's written style, degree of originality, structure and line of argument, and whether it is necessary to add/expand/change any parts or sections. Reviewers have access to a short questionnaire to help them perform the review.

Publication Frequency

RUSC is an electronic journal that publishes two issues per year (January and July).

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
