The call for papers for the 9th edition of CIDUI (International Conference on University Teaching and Innovation) is now open. The congress will take place in Bellaterra (Barcelona) at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, next 5 – 7 July 2016. The title of this edition is Learning and teaching innovation impacts.
From 21st to 23rd September, the eLearn Center is holding working meetings with the organisations and companies with which it collaborates. The main objective of the meetings is to define current pedagogical, technological and workplace trends in order to inform the UOC’s decision-making process on the university of the future.
After a period of redefinition, the eLearn Center announces innovations in its approach, to provide the UOC with an environment that supports experimentation, innovation, training and applied research into e-learning, the four key driving forces that will benefit the UOC’s educational model and favour its ongoing development.
The proposal for a massive open online course (MOOC) entitled "Spoken Communication: English/Spanish in Tandem" to be developed by the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (Open University of Catalonia, UOC), University of Barcelona (UB) and the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV) is to receive 15,300 euros from the Catalan government's Universities and Research Department. This proposal for the development of a MOOC by the UOC was selected by the government's University and Research Grant Management Agency as part of a call opened to the Catalan universities.
Dr Terry Anderson, professor of distance education at Athabasca University and member of the eLearn Center's Scientific Committee joined the center as research fellow on May 2

The meeting served to set the bases for this year’s EFQUEL Innovation Forum to be held at the UOC’s headquarters in Barcelona with the topic Refocusing Quality in E-Learning
The Open and Flexible Higher Education Conference 2013, to be held in Paris 24 and 25 October, has opened a call for research articles on "Transition to open and on-line education in European universities" to be published in the Open Learning: The Journal of Open, Distance and e-Learning.
