Discussion: "The Conditions of Mental Suffering"

On 2 November, at 7 pm, the cycle will finish at the Sala Beckett with a discussion on the relationship between society and mental illnesses. Experts and a family member of a patient with a neurological illness will analyse patient care, and the stigmatization and taboos of these illnesses. It will also tackle scientific methodologies for improving the results of the research conducted. 

Taking part will be Marisa Campos, mother of someone with a neurological illness; Martin Correa, medical anthropologist at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV) and coordinator of Ràdio Nikosia, an organization dedicated to carrying out community projects and activities in the field of mental health; and Asun Pié, educationalist and director of the postgraduate course in Collective Mental Health at the UOC and the URV.

The Conditions of the Brain series involves three talks and a workshop to improve the contents on Wikipedia to do with the brain. The first session will take place on 19 October, at 7 pm, at Sala Beckett theatre in Barcelona.
