11th International Higher Education Conference in Cuba

Cuba's universities and Higher Education Ministry shall be holding the 11no. Congreso Internacional de Educación Superior (11th International Higher Education Conference) in Havana (Cuba) from 12 to 16 February. Gathering under the slogan "Universities and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development", professors, researchers, students and directors of education institutions will be discussing the challenges universities must address in order to meet the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Pastora Martínez Samper, UOC Vice President for Globalization and Cooperation and president of the University Development Cooperation working group within the Conference of Rectors of Spanish Universities (CRUE), will be there in attendance alongside Soreya Reyes Gonzalez, director of the UOC's Mexico centre.

The conference aims to provide an opportunity for talks on the most urgent problems that higher education faces both in Latin America and globally. As well as universities' role in the 2030 Agenda, experts will be sharing their views on the shift towards teaching models with more online elements, the funding of higher education institutions, quality assessment, and the accreditation of university studies.
