Do you know about the SDGs? UOC experts will give details on the 2030 Agenda as part of European Sustainable Development Week

How can we help end famine? How are peace, justice and strong institutions connected? How are we affected by climate change? Do you want to learn more about the 2030 Agenda? The UOC will be taking part in European Sustainable Development Week from 30 May to 5 June. We’ll be running a social media campaign dedicated to promoting the UN 2030 Agenda's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

World leaders passed the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in 2015 with the idea of "Transforming our World". They agreed to achieve the seventeen objectives set to change our world in the next fifteen years. The Agenda was developed jointly through a participatory process involving governments and civil society. Its scope goes beyond a mere social agenda and needs an approach that involves everyone. The Agenda calls for each and every country in the world, whether developed or developing, to achieve this transformation.

Over the week, experts from the university will use social media to give more details on each of the SDGs. From a personal point of view, they’ll give us a closer look at what each of these objectives mean and the importance of achieving them. The UOC wants to use this campaign to raise awareness among the university community of a worldwide political agenda for sustainable development that we can all contribute to achieving.

You can follow the campaign via the @uocuniversitat, @uocuniversidad and @uocuniversity Twitter and Instagram accounts and the #ODSUOC and #ESDW hashtags. Why not take part and help explain to the rest of the university community what the SDGs mean to you?
