Summary
On the agenda of Latin American countries there are policies aimed at greater productivity to strengthen its competitive position. Under this background, this thesis inquires about the relationship of complementarity in the use of Information and Communication Technologies, ICT, qualification of human capital, forms of organizational management, impact on the productivity of small and medium sized firms (SMEs) in the Chilean economy. Also, to compare the results with empirical evidence resulting from research carried out in Catalonia in particular, and in a number of other economies, an appreciative approach has been used. Comparisons conducted both to have a reference point with respect to the chilean reality, as if to demonstrate the relevance of the model used and its ability to understand the new ways of organizing production where complementarities between dimensions play a leading role.
