The IN3 Scientific Advisory Board is to meet its research groups in Castelldefels on 19 and 20 April to assess two of these groups and get to know the rest.

The IN3 currently has ten research groups. Each group has to be assessed at least once every four years. This means that between two and four groups are assessed each year.

The activities carried out by the members of the IN3 Scientific Advisory Board include producing an assessment report on the institute’s groups. The assessment process involves a review of the reports produced by each group, an interview with the group’s leader, an exhaustive review of the assessments with the IN3’s director and a session for comments and feedback prior to the final assessment. This year, the research groups being assessed are Gender and ICT (GENTIC) and K-ryptography and Information Security for Open Networks (KISON).

The IN3’s other research groups will give brief presentations to let the Scientific Advisory Board know about their strategic lines, their internal structure, and the most important results from their scientific output and awards. The IN3’s Scientific Committee uses this information to produce its report with recommendations and suggestions for the future.
