CYBERCAT, a research centre for computer security and data privacy, is launched

Last 8th May 2018, CYBERCAT, an interuniversity research centre for computer security and data privacy, was presented in Barcelona.

CYBERCAT was created as an interuniversity research centre formed by six universities (URV, UOC, UdL, UPC, UAB and UPF) and coordinated by the URV. It integrates the Catalan research groups that work in security technologies and information privacy. 
 
Cybersecurity and data privacy have become great priorities in our society, and are perfectly compatible from a technological point of view. Secure communication information systems and networks are essential to keep digital economy up and even to protect democracy. 
 
The research groups and researchers that make up CYBERCAT are:
 
CRISES, coordinated by Prof. Josep Domingo-Ferrer, based at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV).
 
KISON, coordinated by Dr. David Megías, based at the IN3 (UOC).
 
ISG, coordinated by Prof. Miquel Soriano, based at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC).
 
MAK, coordinated by Dr. Jorge Villar, based at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC).
 
C&G, coordinated by Dr. Josep M. Miret, based at the Universitat de Lleida (UdL).
 
SENDA, with Dr. Jordi Herrera, based at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB).
 
WICOM, with Dra. Vanesa Daza, based at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF).
