Showcase your initiative at the UOC's annual knowledge transfer event

Eight innovative projects will be showcased at this year's #SpinUOC, the fourth holding of the UOC's annual knowledge transfer event. It will take place at the former Estrella Damm brewery on 16 June 2016. If you form part the UOC community – whether alumni, student, or member of the administrative, research or academic staff – and a have project under way that you want the University to help develop, then the #SpinUOC is for you. Take part by filling out the registration form and sending in a short video explaining the project by 14 February 2016.

The UOC Knowledge Transfer and Research Support Office (OSRT), which organizes the #SpinUOC, has opened the selection process to find those "made in UOC" projects which, thanks to their added value, level of development and applicability, best represent the University's innovative activity and capacity to transfer knowledge to society. The #SpinUOC is being organized within the framework of the UOC's new HUBBIK platform to promote innovation, transfer, entrepreneurship and open collaboration. The leaders of the projects selected will receive personalized training in how to make a dynamic presentation at the event. They will also have the chance to meet prospective clients during the #SpinMeetings, and benefit afterwards from the advice and services adapted to their needs offered by HUBBIK.

Submit your project and take part in the #SpinUOC 2016!

The deadline for applying for the #SpinUOC selection process is 14 February 2016. To take part, simply fill in the following form (to access it, you need to enter you Virtual Campus username and password) and send us a 90-second video, which can be recorded using a webcam, in which the person who would present the project briefly explains what it is about. The form also has a video tutorial with best practices, helpful advice of how to record it and details on how to send it in.

The eight projects to be presented will be selected by a panel of experts: Juan Álvarez, founder of Seed&Click; Joan Arnedo, professor from the UOC's Faculty of Computer Science, Multimedia and Telecommunications; Adrià Batlle, Entrepreneurship & Innovation Manager at Mobile World Capital Barcelona and CEO of the 4YFN project; Guillem Garcia Brustenga, Innovation Manager at the UOC's eLearn Center; Lluís Godayol, founding partner of INpulsaEmpresa, SCP; Xavier Jaumejoan, Head of Technology Marketing at ACCIÓ; Maria Mora, Director of the Business Creation and Employment Initiatives Office at the Catalan Business Federation and member of the Catalan Social, Economic and Employment Board; Mireia Riera, Director of the UOC’s Knowledge Transfer and Research Support Office; Enric Serradell, Director of the UOC's Faculty of Economics and Business MBA programmes, and Joan Tarruell, member of the Alumni Council. Their decision will be made known from 14 March.
