University Strategies in the Digital Age, a new online course

From OERs to MOOCs

In the transformation process that digital age universities are driving, what are the key resources? This question is addressed in a new course explaining Open Educational Resources (OERs) and Massive Online Open Courses (MOOCs), one which gives particular emphasis to teaching and learning processes. Although it has already started, registration for the course is still open.

University Strategies in the Digital Age is particularly aimed at presidents, vice presidents, e-learning specialists, teaching staff and anyone else interested in digital strategies for universities. This is a MOOC with a 360-degree view of 21st-century universities, and with guidance from Josep A. Planell and Marta Aymerich, the UOC's President and Vice President for Strategic Planning and Research, respectively. The course entails two hours of study a week and runs until 10 January 2018.

D-Transform

This MOOC is organized by Politecnico di Milano within the framework of the Transforming Universities of the Digital Age (D-Transform) project, funded by the EU's Erasmus+ programme. In addition to the Politecnico di Milano, other participants in the project are the UOC, with Marta Aymerich as principal investigator; the European Distance and E-Learning Network (EDEN); the Fondation Maison des Sciences de l'Homme, as coordinator; Sero Consulting Ltd; Budapest University of Technology and Economics; and the University of Lorraine.

This is the final year of D-Transform. One of its goals has been to implement a leadership training programme for presidents and vice-presidents of European universities, focusing on the role of digital technologies and Open Educational Resources (OERs) in the transformation of their institutions. D-Transform's 1st Leadership School was hosted by the UOC in 2016.
