#SpinUOC 2018: a new call for applications for the UOC's entrepreneurship and transfer event

Aimed at strengthening projects and open to the whole UOC community

If you're a member of the UOC community and you have a project underway that needs some backing, now is the time to let us know! The University has opened a new call for applications for the #SpinUOC entrepreneurship support programme for students, alumni, course instructors, faculty members, researchers or administrative staff. This year there will be three cash prizes: one for €3,000 and two for €2,000.

You have until 7 January 2018 to give us details about what your project involves (regardless of its current level of development) by filling in this form.

Advisory programme for all the proposals received

A new development this year is that all the proposals received will take part in an initial training and advice stage. A panel of experts will select eight projects to be presented at the sixth #SpinUOC at the former Estrella Damm brewery on 14 June 2018. Each of the eight finalists will receive advice on their business model, plan and funding, as well as support in the preparation of their presentation for the event.

Simply for taking part in the event, the eight projects selected will be awarded tickets to 2019's 4 Years from Now (4YFN), the entrepreneurship fair for the mobile sector at the Mobile World Congress.

You can find more information in the terms and conditions for taking part.

Prizes

Three of the eight projects presented at the event will receive cash prizes. The best entrepreneurship project will receive €3,000. The project with the greatest social impact will receive €2,000 thanks to sponsorship from the Ramon Molinas Foundation, and the best presentation at the event will also receive €2,000. All three prizes will be handed out at the event on 14 June. The winners will also benefit from a support programme to develop, validate and implement their business model and funding plan. This programme is offered by Hubbik.

#SpinUOC is organized as part of Hubbik, the UOC's platform to foster innovation, transfer, entrepreneurship and open collaboration at the University. The initiatives receives support from Estrella Damm, Foment de Treball, Ramon Molinas Foundation, Seed&Click, and the Government of Catalonia's Universities and Research Department, and gets funding from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
