Can I study from anywhere in the world?
As an online university, UOC courses are open to the world, providing flexibility of time and place. We currently offer courses in Catalan, Spanish, English, and French. Students can register over the Internet. They can follow the continuous assessment process, which involves assessment online and a final assessment test on site. For those living abroad, this final test can be taken online for most subjects, although some (the minority of syllabuses) involve a mandatory final exam.
Are the studies delivered entirely online? Do I have to go to Spain to take any exams?
The UOC offers two types of assessment structures, depending on the qualifications and syllabus of the course.
What is a virtual campus?
A university campus that can be accessed anywhere, anytime, with no physical barriers. In fact, a campus that students can carry in their pockets!
What types of learning resources and materials are available?
Authors, teachers and professionals prepare content for the UOC. The materials are multiformat (printed, web, CD-ROM) and interactive, and they are adapted accordingly to each programme and to the student’s profile.
What is the UOC's educational model?
Based on information and communication technologies, the UOC´s educational model places the student at the centre of the learning process. At the UOC, the student is the protagonist of an academic process. Students manage their own time, they plan the study rhythm and build their own academic itinerary.
Will my studies be assessed?
Yes, continuous assessment guarantees the academic progress of students and their getting the most out of the course. During the entire academic process, the counsellor gives the student personalised guidance in his/her academic process.
Will there be any mentoring available?
The UOC´s unique educational model provides continuous student mentoring.
What's the difference between an official master degree and the UOC's other master?
Official masters are automatically recognised throughout the European Union, whereas the other master's degrees are subject to a credit evaluation process for recognition.
How does the Virtual Library work?
The Virtual Library permits access to all information resources. The Catalogue and the Digital Collection include both physical-format documents: books, journals, videos, CD-ROM, and electronic and digital documents, which can be accessed directly from the bibliographic record. We also provide you with access to other catalogues from around the world.
As a complement to all of this information, the Virtual Library also offers research and learning, bibliographical information, documentary searches, information literacy training and a range of customised services that will facilitate, complement and allow studentsto carry out their work easily and efficiently.
How old do I have to be to study at the UOC?
There are no age requirements to study at the UOC. You only have to have the previous education the specific course requires.
