UOC International

The UOC has a strong international presence thanks to its strategy of forging alliances with universities and research institutions in different countries.

These alliances are built on a foundation of respect for and acceptance of cultural and linguistic differences.

The International Graduate Institute

The International Graduate Institute develops a wide range of activities designed to internationalise the UOC’s course offering. It does so through:

  • creating programmes that are in English and French or multilingual, and
  • forming international alliances, especially in Ibero-America.

Research and innovation

The Internet Interdisciplinary Institute (IN3) specialises in research into the network society and the knowledge economy, and the study of specific areas of software and network technologies. The IN3 runs a doctoral programme on the Information and Knowledge Society. Each year, the institute welcomes visiting lecturers, research fellows and visiting scholars.

The eLearn Center (eLC) is a centre for research, innovation and training in e-learning, dedicated, in particular, to higher education and lifelong learning. The eLC runs the doctoral programme in Education and ICTs (e-learning).

International cooperation

The Campus for Peace develops training, research and awareness-raising programmes via e-learning to improve people’s living conditions. It takes part in activities in favour of peace, human rights, development cooperation, humanitarian aid, sustainability, etc.

The UOC promotes an integrated system of research, information and documentation related to the use of ICTs in education through its UNESCO Chair in Education & Technology for Social Change. One of the chair’s main aims is to promote equal opportunities in terms of access to new technologies in the knowledge society.

Leading figures

The UOC’s international presence can also be seen in the figures who:

  • visit the university – The UOC receives a great number of visits from other educational institutions and international inter-governmental bodies who are interested in finding out about the university (its educational and technological model, its programmes, etc.) and forming alliances.
  • take part in the seminars and conferences organised by the UOC.
