Mission

Equal opportunities in the Knowledge Society

The UOC UNESCO Chair in e-Learning was created in 2002 to promote research, learning,  information and documentation in the intensive use of ICTs in education.

The Chair closely watches world trends in e-Learning, and the trend-setting experts and institutions in this field. Tha Chair makes diffusion of the acquired knowledge to the communities of educators and practitioners in related fields, nationally and globally, with special focus on disadvantaged and information-needy social groups.

The Chair focuses its activities in the following areas:

  • Creation and Dissemination of Knowledge through its annual International Seminar, roundtables, participation in social networks and other activities.

  • Research applied to the fields of Open Educational Resources (OER) and Gender & Technology.

  • Training Workshops specialising in relevant subjects of e-learning.

  • Attendance of and participation in Congresses, Conferences and National and International Forums.

The UNESCO spirit can be seen in all of the Chair's activities, giving voice to institutions and individuals, engaged into educational practice by promoting the intensive use of technology for the public benefit and development.
