It has been three years since the first company, Sun Microsystems, signed an agreement, in
January 2005, which marked the starting point for more than 100 companies and institutions to take
part in this network of synergies and gain access to a series of services and features related to
training and knowledge. Thus, the professionals linked to these organisations can access bespoke
training programmes offered by the University or discounts on different UOC postgraduate and
lifelong learning programmes.
UOC Associated Institutions and Companies come from a range of economic and social sectors,
and share, among others, the values of contributing to progress in terms of an ethical commitment
to society, the organisation’s competitive investment in the knowledge society and the
development of their employees through lifelong learning.
Through this association, the University offers training advice services, newsletters that
focus on specific areas, and access to the IN3’s library, which specialises in the knowledge
society, and the students’ labour exchange. The UOC also regularly organises a range of
activities and meetings to promote relations between organisations and to establish new forms of
collaboration; such as that which took place in Madrid last November.
