An OLIBA research group project receives the Innova award
[07/04/2008]
The Catalan Museum of the History of Immigration’s (MhiC) blog Fem un museu – Jo també he estat immigrant (Let’s make a museum - I’ve been an immigrant too), created by the UOC OLIBA research group, has received the 2008 Innova award in the services category. The Expodidàctica Show holds these awards to reward and promote the educational, creative and innovative facets of products and services. This year is the third time they have been held.

Fem un museu – Jo també he estat immigrant is one of the sections on the MhiC’s portal created by the OLIBA group; to be more precise by Professor Pere Bàscones. It is an educational project in which students from a number of schools take part in research work compiling accounts and experiences of immigration from family members. The OLIBA group has managed the museum’s portal since 2004, creating digital archives for the life stories and memories of immigrants.

The MhiC’s blogs are an educational activity developed by the museum since 2005, involving local schools: Manuel Vázquez Montalbán Secondary School in Sant Adrià de Besòs, Escola Sant Gabriel, Escola Túrbula and, currently, Mestre Morera Primary School in Ciutat Meridiana.

The other 2008 Innova award winner was the Biologia 3 virtual reality program presented by P3D-Europe and Audiovisual Data, SL, in the product category.
