We are sending you the April issue of the RUSC, Revista de Universidad y Sociedad del Conocimiento, (University and Knowledge Society Journal) newsletter to inform you that we have published the first issue of volume four of RUSC. This edition will remain open until June when we will be closing it with the publication of an article and a review.

We are opening this issue with a monograph on open educational content, coordinated by Julià Minguillón, which comprises five articles on this fundamental issue in distance education today, written by the following authors: G. Geser, M. Gértrudix et al, M. Á. Sicilia, J. M. Boneu and P. Pernías, M. Marco.

We would like to inform you that Dr Martha Burkle, CISCO Chair of e-Learning of the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology has joined our Scientific Editorial Committee.

It gives us great pleasure to inform you that RUSC has recently been indexed on Redalyc, the network of scientific journals of Latin America, the Caribbean, Spain and Portugal; on Intute, which is an evaluated directory of academic educational and research resources, promoted by the British universities of Manchester, Oxford, Manchester Metropolitan, Nottingham, Heriot Watt, Bristol and Birmingham, and in the Directory of Open Access Repositories – OpenDOAR, a database of open-access journals.
