The Internet, Law and Politics Congress, organised by the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya’s (Open University of Catalonia, UOC) Law and Political Science Department, has consolidated its position as an annual meeting point for all those interested in the consequences of the mass use of internet technologies on law and politics, or in the new challenges faced in terms of the interrelation between these three areas.
This is the fourth time the Congress is to be held and it is to be based on two main areas: on the one hand, the repercussions of the new social software tools, web 2.0, and their increasing mass use in political practices, e-government and regulation; and, on the other hand, the current state of the ongoing debate as to what level of regulation there should be on content in the context of technology integration and digital convergence.
