Anna Clua got her doctor degree on Information Sciences (Universitat Aut˛noma de Barcelona, 2001). She has been teaching journalism and communication theories since 1995.


Visiting researcher at the Department of Film and Media Studies, University of Copenhaguen, Denmark (1999), and at the Department of Geography, University of Durham, UK (2003-2005).


She has recently co-directed a study on women's access to ICTs in Catalonia (InCom-UAB, 2005).


Research main interests: communication theories, media political economy, cultural studies, cultural geography, urban studies.


Her last works have focussed on four concrete topics:


  • Cities of knowledge, communication and urban regeneration.
  • Social access to ICTs in the Information Era.
  • Community Media and social movements.
  • The Third Sector and the regulation of the broadcasting system.
