Begonya Enguix holds a degree in American Anthropology (Complutense University of Madrid), a degree in Advertising (UCM-UOC) and a PhD in Social Anthropology (Rovira i Virgili University, Tarragona). She has also completed  studies in Philosophy (University of Valencia). She has been a researcher with the Sociology and Anthropology Institute of the Valencian Institution for Studies and Research (Valencian government / Valencia Provincial Council), as well as with the Labour and Education Research Group (GRET, Autonomous University of Barcelona), and has participated in research groups on migration, anthropology of the body and gender, among others. She is a member of the Research Group on Anthropology of the Body of the Catalan Institut of anthropology, of the Research Group on social anthropology (URV).
She is currently an Associate Professor in the Arts and Humanities Department of the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (Open University of Catalonia, UOC), where she coordinates subjects on anthropology and gender. Her main lines of research are: genders, bodies, sexualities, identities, urban anthropology and anthropology of the media.
