Teacher of Educational Policies and researcher of the Internet Interdisciplinary Institute (IN3), the investigation institute of the Open University of Catalonia (UOC). Currently, I work as Vice-president of Academic Policy and Faculty of that university.

I started my professional activity as a teacher in primary education (1978-1983) and later on as a psychopedagogue within a team of psychopedagogical advice and orientation of the Catalan public system of education (1983-1990). I ran that team between 1987 and 1990. I was in charge of the Orientation and Psychopedagogical Intervention Services and adviser of teacher training within the Department of Education of the Catalan Government (1991-1997).

As a teacher, I have a wide experience in training professionals. I am the author of several papers on distance training based on the ICT, in the field of Pedagogy and Pscychopedagogy. I have been the director of the postgraduate course in Therapeutic Pedagogy and teacher of that same postgraduate course in UOC and Ramon Llull University. Between the years 2000 and 2003, I was the director of the Academic Department of Psychology and Educational Sciences at the Open University of Catalonia. I am also a member of the Managing Council for the International Master in E-Learning at that same university, and a member of the Council for the E-Learning UNESCO Chair.

I am a guest teacher of the Agencia Nacional de Evaluación de la Calidad y Acreditación (National Agency for the Evaluation of Quality and Accreditation) regarding the design of evaluation tools for the accreditation of official education taught in non face-to-face modality.

Lately, I have been developing research activities around the processes of construction of knowledge in virtual teaching and learning environments, and the educational uses of the Internet.

Together with another teacher, Josep M. Mominó, I am currently running the research project L'Escola a la Societat en Xarxa (School within the Net Society), funded by the Catalan Government, which is part of the Project Catalonia Internet, the main researcher of which is the professor Manuel Castells.
