Muriel Gomez Pradas

Muriel Gómez Pradas has a PhD in Art History from the University of Zaragoza, Geography and History Degree, majoring in Art History, from the University of Barcelona, and a postgraduate diploma in Museology from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. She was the curator for the Asian collection of the Ethnological Museum of Barcelona and is currently director of the Master's Degree in Cultural Management (UOC, UdG) at the UOC Faculty of Arts and Humanities. She is coordinator of the Miró Chair (UOC, Fundació Joan Miró). She has been a Japan Foundation Fellowship researcher and was awarded a José Castillejo 2017 Grant by the Spanish Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport. Her research is focused on museum collection creation and institutionalization processes, how art is received (especially that of other cultures, taking Japanese art as a case study), popular and traditional Japanese art (Mingei undō), the figure of sculptor Eudald Serra and the avant-garde movements of the first half of the 20th century.
