Olívia Gassol Bellet (Lleida, 1978) holds a PhD in Catalan Language and Literature from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB, 2008). She has been a temporary part-time lecturer in the UAB’s Department of Catalan since 2005, and a lecturer in the Arts and Humanities Department of the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (Open University of Catalonia, UOC) since 2009.

In terms of research, she specialises in the study of the literature and culture of the Franco era, and in textual criticism and the philological editing of texts. She is a member of the editorial team of the publication Obres completes – Edició Crítica de Salvador Espriu (Barcelona, Edicions 62) and the editorial commission of the journal Indesinenter. Anuari Espriu. She has led various competitively funded research projects, specifically La cultura oficial a la Barcelona franquista. La política cultural de la Diputació de Barcelona durant el període 1939-1948 (AGAUR, 2009-2010), La prensa del caudillo. Publicaciones falangistas para la Cataluña de posguerra (1939-1950) (Spanish Ministry of the Presidency, 2010-2011), Memorialisme i historiografia durant el primer franquisme a Barcelona. Els intel·lectuals al servei del Règim (AGAUR, 2010-2011) and La prensa del caudillo. 1950-1959 (Spanish Ministry of the Presidency, 2011-2012). A member of the Contemporary Catalan Literature Studies Group (GELCC, UAB, 2000) and the Franco and Democratic Eras Study Centre (CEFID, UAB, 2003), she is currently director of the journal Franquisme & Transició. Revista d’Història i Cultura. She received the 2003 Anna Murià Literary Essay Award for her work La pell de brau de Salvador Espriu o el mite de la salvació (Barcelona, Publicacions de l’Abadia de Montserrat).
