The present work provides initial data from a study of the needs detected in order to improve content and information management and visibility so as to prevent the loss of information in virtual teaching and learning environments (VTLE), with the aim of achieving better control and enriching the flow of content between the different agents interacting in this learning model. In turn, the possibilities are examined of increasing the potential of building skills involving information and communications technologies (ICT) on university courses, supported by the development of cross-curricular subjects with multimedia communications content, as well as basic aspects in order to take full advantage of online communication and learning through the definition of spaces for the exchange of information.
