The UOC is leading the round table «Empowering women in science» at BIST

Pastora Martínez Samper, UOC Vice President for Globalization and Cooperation, will be moderating the Empowering Women in Science within the BIST Community round table, organized by the Barcelona Institute of Science and Technology (BIST). Taking place on 28 November, the event will bring together members of the scientific community from Catalonia's most internationally acclaimed research centres.

The goal of this get-together is to shed light on the research centres' needs, initiatives and successes in terms of programmes for supporting women in science and within the BIST.

The discussion will involve seven members of the BIST community and will focus on leadership styles, professional networks, balancing personal life and work, gender bias, and barriers to women's progression in scientific careers.

The BIST General Director, Gabby Silberman, will be chairing the event.
