Program

The generational studies from the socio-cultural point of view employ great resources and can be done in various manners, depending on the information pursued by the researcher (Close & Martins, 2020; Haddon & Mante-Meijer, 2016; Hansen & Leuty, 2012; Leung, 2013; Pînzaru et al., 2016; Schewe & Meredith, 2004; Vogels, 2019). Considering the next financial exercise proposed for the development regions in Romania that focus mainly on digitalization of institutions, public transportation, agriculture and SMEs (ACZ Consulting, n.d.; ADR VEST, n.d.; Agenția de dezvoltare regională Nord-vest, 2019; Agenția pentru dezvoltare regională București - Ilfov, 2019; Agenția pentru dezvoltare regională Centru, 2019; Agentia pentru Dezvoltare Regionala Nord-Est, 2020; Agenția pentru Dezvoltare Regională Sud-Vest Oltenia, 2020), the Romanian population enters this changes without a thorough research on the needs, preferences, fears, values and means of its population, resulting in possible great financial losses, implementation failure and under-resolving of the problems the cities and the population confronts with.

In order to gather a great amount of in-depth data from varied, active and relevant members of the Romanian generations, this study proposes a new methodology, combining four research techniques under one instrument. The semi-structured interviews and participatory observation will be conducted via ethnographic research, hammering out techniques as technobiographies (Kennedy, 2003), technographies (Jansen & Vellema, 2011), family interview (Eggenberger & Nelms, 2007) and walking interview (Ratzenböck, 2016) for ensuring comprehensive information from multiple generations, which will also facilitate understandings of intergenerational relations, similarities and differences.
