The President of the UOC, Josep A. Planell, is a keynote speaker at the 2022 Innovating Higher Education (I·HE2022) conference, organized by the European Association of Distance Teaching Universities (EADTU), giving a talk titled "Open and distance universities: the medium is the message".
Other attendees at the conference, which is being held in Athens from 19 to 21 October, include Àngels Fitó, Vice President for Competitiveness and Employability, Carme Pagès, member of the Faculty of Economics and Business and head of job market surveillance and analysis, Maria Olivella, coordinator of the Equality Unit, and Carles Bruguera, researcher in the Faculty of Economics and Business' project "Modular Continuing Higher Education by Microcredentials". Their talks are as follows:
- "Learners’ perspective of microcredentials: a systematic review" - Àngels Fitó, Carme Pagès and Carles Bruguera
- "Addressing and preventing sexist and lgtbiphobic discrimination in an online university" - Maria Olivella
- "Capturing the power of open universities and EIT InnoEnergy to create a reskilled workforce from student to employee" - Carme Pagès
The EADTU is a network of European online and distance-learning universities whose mission is to influence public policy relating to online and distance learning, while also raising funds for innovation in the area of e-learning.
