Governance

With the Equality Unit having been restructured and consolidated as a core part of the UOC, it was deemed appropriate to review its internal precepts in order to adapt it to the new set-up and to define its leadership, functions and structure.

The Equality Unit is governed by the Office of the president, which can delegate responsibility to a vice president. It is currently governed by the UOC's Office of the Vice President for Globalization and Cooperation.

Its functions include the drafting of the UOC's equality plans – a roadmap we update on a multi-year basis– and the corresponding tasks of implementation, monitoring, diagnosis and assessment.

Also important is recognition of other University departments' collaboration with the Equality Unit. This is achieved thanks to the creation of an advisory commission which paves the way for cooperation in implementing the UOC's gender equality policies.
