We started out 30 years ago as pioneers in online education. Our objective: to provide lifelong learning opportunities to everyone, regardless of their circumstances. This commitment is stronger than ever today. And, thanks to quality online learning, we can contribute to sustainable development goal (SDG) 4 for quality education.
We also want to facilitate the digital transformation in education, accompanying governments, institutions and teaching communities worldwide. We are sharing the UOC's knowledge and experience for these new times.
What do we want to achieve?
Facilitate equal access to higher education for everyone
Offer education adapted to the needs of each person
Provide training in global and digital competencies in classrooms with a diverse and international student body
Improve the methods of teaching teams in virtual environments
Help institutions and organizations to boost online education
How?
Ensuring the quality of the online education
We are working with governments and quality agencies worldwide. We are helping them to implement their own quality online learning systems and mechanisms.
In addition, our quality policy takes international distance learning standards into account, which allows us to drive the continual and reliable improvement of the system.

Accompanying governments and institutions in their digital transformation
As pioneers in online learning, we are accompanying education systems and institutions in the development of their own online model, on three levels: teaching, technology and organization.

Bridging the digital gap
We are working to promote the training for teachers and institutions in the use of information and communication technologies (ICT) in their teaching activities, and we are training students in digital competencies. To do so, we are offering both a wide range of courses and tailored consultancy services.
Researching and innovating in online learning
We want to meet the challenges of the future of education and, to do this, we have 20 online learning research groups. Likewise, the eLearning Innovation Center, a pioneering institution in educational innovation, helps us to continue progressing and adapting our teaching model to the changing reality.
