Barcelona hosts the Next Generation Student Success Symposium

22/03/2018
An opportunity for higher education innovators, influencers and investors to explore a shared vision for the digital environment

The UOC, DXtera Institute, German Alliance for Education, and Strada Education Network organize the Next Generation Student Success Symposium, an international gathering of decision makers and researchers in higher education organizations. The event will be held from 19 to 21 June in Palau Macaya, Barcelona. The call for abstracts is open to decision makers, researchers and experts until 15 Mayo.

Over the past two decades, the digital learning environment has emerged as the number one solution for e-learning delivery, offering a single support system. With the pervasive reach of the internet and increasing digital literacy, educational institutions now find that rather than a single learning environment, they need to offer a digital learning ecosystem. There is growing demand for diverse and complex educational processes including assessment, accreditation, personalization, and analytics. New approaches must be designed and must offer a wide range of solutions to support the latest learning methods and possibilities. This digital approach takes into account past and future evolutions of learning and analytic methodologies; looking to prepare for the next generation of learning, our educational systems must be adaptable to prevent obsolescence.

The Next Generation Student Success Symposium is an opportunity for higher education innovators, influencers and investors to come together to explore a shared vision for the Next Generation Digital (NGD) environment, supporting student success. The goal of this symposium is to talk about what is currently happening, but moreover to boldly envision a future of NGD environments and systems where learning environments, business intelligence and learning analytics, and education and career pathways can thrive. This symposium is open to researchers, innovators, influencers, leaders and entrepreneurs who are seeking to transform the delivery of education and bring success to student activities.
