B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Physics (Universitat Autnoma de Barcelona). M.B.A. and Ph.D. in Management Sciences (ESADE, Universitat Ramon Llull). He has followed graduate studies at the Penn State University and the Syracuse University in the USA.


He has served as lecturer and researcher of the Theoretical Physics Group at the Universitat Autnoma de Barcelona and lecturer at the Management Information Systems Department of the ESADE Business School. He has also been Visiting Fellow of the Warwick Business School at the University of Warwick (UK), Visiting Scholar of the Sol C. Snider Entrepreneurial Research Center at the Wharton School in the University of Pennsylvania (USA) and Visiting Fellow at the Sad Business School of the University of Oxford (UK).


During his professional life he has combined the academia with managerial and consultancy activities in the strategy, organization, information systems and knowledge management areas.


He is currently associate professor at the Business and Economics Department of the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya, where he serves as the director of the M.Sc. in Strategic Management of Knowledge and Information in Organizations. He is also lecturer at the Strategy and General Management Department of the ESADE Business School.


He is the principal investigator of the KIMO consolidated research group on the information and knowledge management in organizations. He is also Senior Research Fellow of the I-Space Institute in Philadelphia (USA) and belongs to the advisory board of the newPIC Chair of New Practices for Innovation and Creativity at the Paris School of Business (France). His present research interests are in the areas of information management, strategic knowledge management, social networks, innovation, and complex systems.
