Elisabet Ruiz Dotras

Elisabet Ruiz-Dotras holds a Bachelor Degree in Business and Administration by Pompeu Fabra Universy and a Ph in Finance by the University of Barcelona.

She joined the UOC in 1999. She was the Head of the Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Administration (2001-2005), the Head of the Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing and Market Research (2006-2014) and the Director of the Master Science in Financial Markets (2000-2015).

Her teaching areas have always been financial markets and financial management. She is currently an Associate Professor of Finance at the UOC. She was a Visiting Professor at City University of Hong Kong (CityU) during the academic year 2014/2015 and at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) during the academic year 2010/11. She has been a lecturer in UNED (1996-2000) and Pompeu Fabra University (2001-2004).

 

From 2013 to 2014, she was also a partner in MuntAudit, SL., a consulting and forensic economic company. There, she served as a Court Expert Witness of a dispute on the portfolio between a bank and a private banking client.

Her research interests lie in the areas of international finance, financial literacy and financial education. She has published several papers and participated in different international conferences and seminars on Finance and e-learning. She has also developed several teaching materials, designed and created many courses and collaborated in different books and projects related to the financial sector.
