Carme Carrion Ribas

She holds a doctoral degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Barcelona (2002), a master's degree in Biotechnology from the UB, UAB and UPC (1995) and another in Conflictology from the UOC (2008), as well as an official llicenciatura degree in Chemical Sciences from the UB (1993).


During the early stages of her research, she was a member of the Drug Transportation and Vehiculization group at the University of Barcelona (1994-2003), during which period she also gained expertise in a number of biochemistry and molecular biology techniques. She subsequently joined the emerging research group, Translational Medicine and Decision Science, at the University of Girona's Faculty of Medicine. She currently heads the UOC's consolidated research group, eHealth Lab, as well as e-health intervention design and assessment at the UOC's eHealth Center. She also directs the doctoral programme in Bioinformatics as well as the University Master's Degree in E-Health. Her current research focuses on the design, implementation, assessment and impact of the best e-health interventions and decision-making aids, based on the best available scientific evidence.


She has been a researcher at the Agency for Health Quality and Assessment of Catalonia, the Institute for Research in Biomedicine and the University of Girona and has taken part in drawing up and implementing a number of guides to clinical practice and in assessing the impact of research in biomedicine. She has also taken part in international e-health research and development projects.


Alongside her research she has taught at secondary and university level in various areas of knowledge.
