Her areas of interest are sociolinguistics and language policy and planning, and, more specifically, language and identity; language and tourism; language and immigration; new speakers of minority languages; and comparative language policy analysis.

Member of the Language, Culture and Identity in the Global Age research group, recognised as an emerging group and funded by the Catalan government’s Directorate-General for Research (2009-2013).

Project leadership

Llengua, identitat i polítiques turístiques a Catalunya i a Gal·les project, alongside Dr. Joan Pujolar (UOC) and Dr. Kathryn Jones (Y Ganolfan Cynllunio Iaith/Welsh Centre for Language Planning, Wales). Funded by a Batista i Roca grant from the Catalan government’s University and Research Grant Management Agency (AGAUR) (October 2008 – September 2009).

Coordinator of the Projecte de recerca sobre els usos lingüístics del col·lectiu gai, lesbià, bisexual i transsexual de Catalunya, alongside Dr. Joan Pujolar, Dr. Josep Anton Fernández and Miquel Strubell (UOC). Commissioned by the Catalan government’s Ministry of Social Action and Citizenship (February 2008 – May 2008).
