Associate Professor of Political Science at the Law and Political Science
Studies. Teaching at the Masters' degree in Political Analysis and Masters' degree in
Administration and E-Government, both at Universitat Oberta of Catalonia(UOC). She was a former
Associate Director of the Phd Program in Information and Knowledge Society and Director of Masters'
degree in Information and Knowledge Society at UOC. She has also been Visiting Scholar at the
Center for Political Studies at the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor) and a Senior Researcher at
the University Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona, Spain). She holds a Phd in Political Sciences and Sociology
from the University of Deusto (Spain) and a bachelors' degree at the same university.
Member of the research group GADE (Governance, Administration and Electronic Democracy) at
UOC and several Standing Groups of the European Consortium for Political Research (Politics and
Internet Political Deliberation, Political Networks). She has participated and participates in
various R & D projects on the impact of digital media on participation in political and public
opinion such as OPINIONET led by the UOC; POLNET led by Universidad Autonoma Barcelona (UAB) and
Digital Citizenship led by the UCM . She is also researcher in the European project GEDII on gender
diversity in science, led by UOC-IN3.
Her main fields of interest are Methodology of Social Sciences, Political Participation and
Deliberation. Currently working on issues of social networks and brokerage, social movements, new
political parties and online deliberation. Her recent articles on these issues were published in
journals such as: Information, Communication & Society, Policy & Internet, ARBOR and
International Journal of Sociology.
