| The Journal of Catalan Studies is the first academic journal dedicated entirely to Catalan Language and Culture adopting a totally electronic mode of publication. In most other respects, however, it will function as a traditional scholarly journal. | An on-line journal differs from a traditional journal in publishing electronically as opposed to a printed format. The Journal of Catalan Studies will update material on a periodic basis, twice a year, eliminating any backlog between acceptance and publication. Previously published articles will be accessible by author, subject or date, with a search option. An on-line journal is NOT the same as a newsgroup, discussion list, or bulletin board: the Journal of Catalan Studies is none of these things and will not function in this way. | Una revista en línia es distingeix d'una de tradicional perquè es publica electrònicament i no en un format imprès. | On-line journals are a logical development in the use of information technology. The dissemination of material through this medium has three main advantages over publication in a traditional manner, namely, cost, speed and ease of access. Other advantages of an electronic medium include keyword searching and the use of multimedia and hypertext formats. | Les revistes en línia són un desenvolupament lògic en l'ús de la tecnologia de la informació. | The Editors are committed to the widest dissemination for material published by the journal. As well as publishing on-line they will also explore possibilities for the publication of the contents of the journal from time to time with traditional presses. In keeping with most paper-based publications of its kind the Journal of Catalan Studies will consider publication of research material relating to the standard academic areas listed generally below.
Research into any area of study regarding the Catalan language: history, dialectology, lexicology, phonetics, etc. Linguistic surveys relating to syntax, morphology, etc. Studies of a more comparative nature concerning that language: Romance Linguistics, Sociolinguistics, etc. 2. History, Society and Civilisation of the Països Catalans Investigation into the general cultural personality of this nation: studies relating to any aspect of the history or society of the Catalan speaking lands. 3. Literature in Catalan Research into any area of literature from any period of Catalan civilisation: from Medieval to Modern, Renaissance to Contemporary. All genres and all types of expression (from popular to erudite) will be considered.
4. Catalan Art and Culture
Given the international dimension of the journal, a specialised area of interest will be the theory and practice of translation, though of particular interest will be studies relating to translations between Catalan and other languages. |
D'acord amb la major part de les publicacions d'aquesta naturalesa en paper, el Journal of Catalan Studies preveu la publicació de materials de recerca relatius a les àrees acadèmiques establertes en la llista que segueix:
Recerca en qualsevol àrea d'estudi referent a la llengua catalana: història, dialectologia, lexicologia, fonètica, etc. Estudis lingüístics relatius a la sintaxi, la morfologia, etc. Treballs de naturalesa més comparativa relacionats amb aquella llengua: lingüística romànica, sociolingüística, etc. 2. Història, societat i civilització dels Països Catalans Investigacions sobre la personalitat cultural general d'aquesta nació: estudis relatius a qualsevol aspecte de la història o la societat de les terres de llengua catalana. 3. Literatura en català Recerques en qualsevol camp de la literatura de qualsevol dels períodes de la civilització catalana: del medieval al modern, del renaixentista al contemporani. Tots els gèneres i tots els els tipus d'expressió (dels populars als erudits) seran presos en consideració. 4. Art i cultura catalans Estudis d'investigació sobre qualsevol aspecte no literari de la cultura catalana, especialment les arts plàstiques, l'arquitectura, el cinema, les arts interpretatives, etc. 5. Traducció Atesa la dimensió internacional de la revista, una àrea d'interès específic serà la teoria i la pràctica de la traducció, amb una atenció particular als estudis relatius a les traduccions entre el català i les altres llengües. | |
