Open Apps: Open Teaching Experiences and Applications

In September 2012 it was launched Open Apps, the online environment of the UOC that  brings together innovative and successful experiences from the university in education and management and shares them in open access.

In addition to providing the source code and the documentation necessary to implement the apps, the project also offers all the theoretical and practical knowledge generated around the development and application of apps experience in the UOC, the opportunity to participate with comments, recommendations and user experiences on the experiences shown in the environment and how to contact with people who have developed and implemented those apps and experiences, to share knowledge and to facilitate other possible collaborations.

Editing and publication of open educational materials in higher education: two pilot test at the UOC

In 2011, at the Open University of Catalonia ( UOC), have been developed two APLICA innovation projects related to axis 2 of  the UOC on teaching materials/content management. The first project, "Authorship model for Open Learning Resource for versioning (RAO)", led by Professor Marcelo Fabian, and "Creating and Editing educational materials in the cloud", led by Professor Enric Mor.

Both projects share a common tool for MediaWiki consisting of a set of templates that allow authoring with a  didactic treatment. It has been added also a set of plugins to automate the publication of such content on the Internet and to generate multiple outputs and formats for these files (pdf, ebook, web, wiki). This tool is explained in the video.
