Martina I. Steiner. ( Ph.D.) social and cultural anthropologist, professor and researcher at the Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology, Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Vienna since 1997. Main lines of research: anthropology of communication, culturalism, peace studies, conflict analysis, complexity studies and research methods. He has performed several field research in Somalia, Senegal and South Tyrol (Italy). Senior Consultant for the EU and the UN in Somalia. Fellow at the Institute of Political Studies S. Pio V Rome, Italy.

11.30 - 12.30 h Workshop: The Craft of conflictology: professionals and fields of action
Moderator: Eduard Carrera

The content of the workshop will build on the work of conflict cases that have managed various professionals from different fields of knowledge and scientific disciplines (political scientists, economists, educators, property managers, lawyers), in order to find those common aspects that we identify as conflictologists. So, from three issues relating to a real conflict, during the workshop we will highlight the work performed by different professionals in the conflict resolution field, and will build impact indicators.

Elisabet Barnadas. Lawyer, real estate agency, mediator, member of the Mediation Committee of the Association of Property Managers Barcelona-Lleida. Founding partner of Mediation Success in Barcelona.
Mercè Rotllan. Economist. Member of school of economists.
Jordi Casajoana. Lawyer and Mediator in practice. Founder of the conflict resolution company IMI (Institute Comprehensive Medication), chairman of the committee of mediator lawyers at the Barcelona Bar Association of Lawyers, deputy director of the office of Icab Badalona, vocal observatory of Catalonia civil law, the lawyer DGAIA. Matrimonial and Criminal lawyer with, children, domestic violence and immigration. Integrating innovation and research groups on issues of coexistence and Mediation and Protection at the University of Barcelona. Member of the scientific committee of the culture Mediation at the University of Barcelona.

15.00 - 16.15 h Workshop: Sport, values ​​and conflict resolution
Moderator: Clàudia Solanes, academic coordinator of the Master "Sport as a tool for social coexistence and conflict resolution", the UNESCO-FFCB-UOC

The workshop shows the effectiveness of sport values ​​in achieving peace and social coexistence. Why do we give increasing importance to the sport as a transmitter of values in society? How sport can influence to solve social problems? How can we improve the results obtained up to the present?

Tom Woodhouse, lecturer in Sport and Conflict Resolution Master in Sport for Social Coexistence and Conflict Resolution at the UNESCO-FFCB-UOC Chair.
Aamir Bilal, Founder and director of Sports Development Foundation (SDF) in Pakistan. He possesses diverse experience and knowledge in the field of management, leadership, communications and coaching. Aamir has been an active athlete and an outstanding basketball player and a qualified basketball coach, he has been the Communication Director at the National Commission for Human Development (NCHD), Media Advisor for Pakistan Cricket Board in 2007, and he regularly contributes for the newspaper The News.

Moderator: Elisabet Ferran, PhD in Law, legal secretary and professor at the University Abat Oliva and at UOC.

Justice does not work properly. This is a reality for both legal practitioners and the citizens. This workshop aims to reflect and explore other formulas to build a more humane justice, fairer and ultimately more satisfying and parallel contrary to the traditional justice by which the citizens can demonstrate their democratic maturity. Such is the way of the "public Justice".

He has authored several internationally bestselling books, including Mas Platon y menos Prozac (translated into 27 languages). His latest book in Spanish is El Poder del Tao. He collaborates with global think tanks and leadership forums such as the Aspen Institute, BioVision (Lyon), Festival of Thinkers (Abu Dhabi), Horasis (Zurich), Soka Gakkai International (Tokyo), Strategic Foresight Group (Mumbai), and the World Economic Forum (Davos).
