Lidia Arroyo at CERN

02/02/2017

Last 27th of January, the GenPORT project, coordinated by IN3-UOC, was invited by CERN to share the experience of making a network on gender and science at the Gender and Physics Day co-organised by CERNESO and NordForsk.

Lidia Arroyo, researcher of Gender and ICT Group, presented the communication and engagement strategies undertaken to achieve the creation of a gender and science community composed by more than 900 users who had uploaded 450 resources.

GenPORT is a community sourced internet portal, offering an open collaborative environment for exchanging resources and knowledge on gender across all sciences, i.e.  natural and social sciences, and humanities. The available information is constantly updated by its community of users.

GenPORT also offers online discussion forums where users from across the globe can gather to discuss emergent topics related to gender in science, today it counts with more 400 contributions from international experts in different fields.

If you are an expert or you are interested in incorporating a gender and science perspective in your field, we encourage you to take part of the GenPORT community.
