UOC to host the 53 edition of the CINDA Board of Directors

UOC President Josep A. Planell chairs the 53 edition of the Board of Directors of the Interuniversity Center for Development (CINDA, by its acronym in Spanish), as President of this network of universities.

The activities scheduled for the first day will start with the dialogue among university Presidents "Where is the university headed?", which will be followed by the conversation between Xavier Prats-Monné, expert in education and learning programs and policies of the EU, international cooperation in the field of education and learning and President Planell's senior advisor for strategic initiatives, and UOC Vice President for Globalization and Cooperation Pastora Martínez Samper.

Next, there will be three parallel sessions of open debate on the role of universities as a transforming element of society, the role of science and knowledge in society, and the digital transformation of universities.

Among the activities of the second work session of this 53rd Board of Directors of CINDA, scheduled for 15 October, there will be a dialogue on "Creativity and technology to face the pandemic" with the participation of  Mónica Bello, Curator and Head of Arts at CERN; Manuel Borja-Villel, Director of Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, and Mateo Valero, Director of Barcelona Supercomputing Center. The moderator of this roundtable will be the professor of the Department of Arts and Humanities of the UOC, Pau Alsina.
