At the UOC we view education as a force capable of transforming the lives of both collectives and individuals, which is why we strive to provide quality higher education for all.

The UOC's equal-opportunity and inclusive approach to higher education has been designed to ensure that no one is left behind. What's more, our programmes aid students in becoming socially responsible citizens with a global outlook. The University also engages in research that has a social impact and forges alliances with academic and cultural institutions, international agencies and organizations from the voluntary sector.

The United Nations' 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development is a central pillar of the UOC's pursuit to position itself as a global university. Accordingly, we are facing the world's greatest challenges head-on by generating knowledge that can be used to help our societies progress.

The UOC Equality Unit's principal function is to ensure compliance with current legislation for effective equality between women and men, adopting the principle of equal opportunity and non-discrimination on the grounds of gender or sexual orientation, at all levels of the University.

At the UOC we believe that higher education is a universal right that everyone should be able to exercise under equal conditions. Our e-learning model represents a great opportunity to provide access to quality higher education to people that may otherwise be excluded from on-site university systems.

The UOC is making its mark on society across the globe thanks to its online model, and is even greater when we collaborate on research projects, volunteering initiatives and social internships with international organizations, governments, public sector agencies, organizations and social entities based in other regions.

We are doing our part to reshape societies by making them fairer and more sustainable. We are looking to put forward new ways of working to unravel the complexities of the present day and we are striving to position ourselves as a responsible and sustainable place of work.

The UOC is strongly committed to rural development and territorial cohesion in order to turn depopulated territories into spaces of opportunity.
We contribute to the current challenges facing rural areas promoting processes that bring about positive change.
